7 Best Books For Your Spiritual Journey

Hello everyone! It has been a while since I've had the opportunity to sit and write! I apologize for that, but I have some great content for you!

Since January of 2019, I have been on a journey towards enlightenment. Its been an enriched road and I've learned so much thus far. These books are all great reads, not too complicated, yet give so much information. Some of these books are psychology based, others metaphysical based and others more spiritual. So even if you're not going for a middle path, spiritually enlightened path, but just want some deeper connections to your life, these books will be helpful for you! But, if you are searching to be on the middle path, these will be especially helpful. It doesn't matter if you're just beginning or have some experience, have an open mind and these books will speak to you.

I love to spread knowledge and light, so without further a due, here are the books I've read (in no particular order! Just the order I've read them in!)

1. The Secret- Rhonda Byrne

Garrett gifted me this book for Christmas 2018. I wasn't impressed at first. I actually thought it was quite corny. But in hindsight, I think it was one of the best gifts he's gotten me. The gift of knowledge!

Why do I love this book?

  • It is an introduction to the Law of Attraction, The Universe, Manifestation! It really helped me as a beginner to understand these new concepts.

  • Countless additional references from credible Authors, Teachers, and Affluent people via quotes throughout the book. Helps make it feel like this isn't just someone's opinions, but it is mutually agreed upon by 1000's of affluent people.

  • There is a movie also! I liked the book better, but the movie is on Netflix!

  • It gets to the point, it discloses very quickly that "The Secret" is the Law of Attraction!

  • Weaves in true tales of using the Law of Attraction from famous people.

  • Has a printable check for you to help in your manifestation/visualization of money! Linked here --> https://www.thesecret.tv/gifts-for-you/the-secret-check/

2. Unfu*k Yourself- Gary John Bishop

I absolutely love this book! This author is very blunt and to the point. He is a psychologist so his book is very psychology based. He is a grab your life by the horns and GO!

Why do I love this book?

  • A good wake up call! His blunt personality does not beat around the bush. He dives right into the facts of "You have the life you're willing to put up with" and it can really help a person see what is truly in front of them. (Your ego may not like this book, but your soul will thank you!)

  • Gives you Mantras! Each chapter's title is a new mantra for you to excel in your life. He leaves you feeling powerful!

  • He curses in the book. I find it sincere!

  • Really helps you reflect on your life and make progress.

3. Stop Doing That Sh*t- Gary John Bishop

In typical Cheyenne fashion, when I find something I like, I get all that I can from the same person! I purchased this after I finished Unfu*k Yourself because I loved the author so much!

Why do I love this book?

  • Continues on the psychological wave! Helps build upon what you've already learned in the previous book, and give you deeper insights.

  • It gives you opportunities to reflect on how you perceive yourself, society, and life!

4. The Universe Has Your Back- Gabby Bernstein

The story on how I found this book is that I had booked myself a massage, and upon arrival my appointment wasn't in the system. Instead of letting it ruin my evening, I took the opportunity to check out the half-priced books that was in the same plaza. I was finding for a new book, so it worked out perfectly! I searched through all the sections and finally came to the "Spiritual" section. For some reason, my hand and eyes were drawn to a coverless little grey book on the 5th shelf. I picked it up, flipped it open, and found out quite quickly this was the book I'm supposed to be reading! The Universe definitely guided me.

Why do I love this book?

  • She is so authentic and real with her audience. She discloses hardships, that she isn't perfect, and what she does when she is misaligned.

  • She offers meditations, affirmations and exercises to help strengthen your spirituality.

  • Helps you dig deep! This book has left me in tears multiple times!

  • Fantastic quotes and mantras!! My favorite is "Obstacles are detours in the right direction."

  • I appreciate the build-up of the book's knowledge. It begins with basic universal lessons and then gently guides you along to deeper and stronger lessons.

This book is one that helped me the most. I had a solid foundation of knowledge at this point, and this is where I truly got into believing, and receiving!

5. A Course In Miracles (Made Easy)- Alan Cohen

I found this book through The Universe Has Your Back actually. Gabby references it multiple times. I was very intrigued and I was in need of a new book!

Why do I love this book?

  • Presents a non-religious version of God that is beautiful. I appreciated that a lot because I didn't grow up in a church-going household. I never had a true religion, just a relationship with God. Presents him as an all-loving, all-accepting father. I enjoyed this book so much more because of that.

  • Goes against certain aspects of life...such as the idea that there is no Sin, just perceived sin. That humans are the creators of guilt, shame, and other negative feelings.

  • Touches on some psychological aspects as well.

  • The chapters are packed full of knowledge, yet very easy to get through.

  • Not strictly religious! The words "hot sex" are typed in it.

  • Truly refreshing to read. I keep it as my sort of bible. I refer back to certain chapters for what part of my life I need it in. I write in my hardcopy!

This is book is one of my favorites when I need something to bring me closer to God.

6. You Are A Badass! How to stop doubting your greatness and start living an awesome life - Jen Sincero

100% recommend this book! I listened to it on audible so it felt like I went to have a chat with my girlfriend Jen every day over coffee!

Why do I love this book?

  • She is so very real and authentic! She talks about her life without rose-colored glasses. Very relatable.

  • She is spiritual, factual, psychological. Well rounded in her writing!

  • It has fantastic lessons that make you dig deep into your own mind.

  • She has exercises to do to follow up with that are soul-fulfilling.

I can't stress this enough of how much I love this book. I thought Gabby made me cry....but Jen lead me to many "ah-ha" moments, self-realization, perfect for what I needed it my life at the time, ugly crys!!

7. You Are A Badass: At Making Money- Jen Sincero

Again, typical Chey fashion, I run with the authors I love. You wouldn't think that a money book would be here for a spiritual journey... but here it is!
